Program Overview

Northeast Community College offers an online Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration. This degree can be beneficial for students who are interested in learning business fundamentals, as well as leadership skills needed in the business world. This is a two-year program that focuses on the liberal arts with business courses intertwined.

The curriculum focuses on accounting, business law, business communications and economics to better prepare its students for the business world. Successful completion of 62 to 65 credit hours is needed for graduation. Students can enroll in courses such as business law, English composition, lifetime wellness, principles of microeconomics and more.

Upon completion of this degree, students may continue their education by transferring to a four-year educational institution to work on obtaining a bachelor’s degree. Students planning on transferring should meet and work closely with an advisor to select courses that will smoothly transfer to other colleges or universities. Prior to meeting with an advisor, students should have reviewed program requirements of all transfer schools they are interested in applying.

This degree is a member of the distance-learning program, which allows busy students to complete a degree from home. Basic computer skills and Internet access are required. Through the use of an online learning management system, students should be able to log in and access course materials 24/7 from a laptop, tablet or smartphone.     Northeast Community College was initially founded in 1973 by the Nebraska state legislature. Today, the public two-year Northeast Community College focuses on the development of vocational and technical skills, in addition to providing liberal arts and transfer degrees and continuing education coursework. Northeast Community College’s mission is to provide “comprehensive, lifelong, learning-centered educational opportunities and services to meet the diverse needs of our public.”
