Program Overview

The Graduate Certificate In Global Health is a 12-credit-hour program that offers students the opportunity to earn an additional academic education in health care issues existing in developing countries and multi-ethnic populations in industrialized nations. The certificate may be taken alone, serve as the foundation for acceptance into a Master’s degree program, or the certificate can also be part of an MPH degree program. The certificate program enhances health care providers’ knowledge and understanding of the health, socio-economic and political environments affecting the health statuses of individuals and whole populations.

The coursework is designed to provide graduate students the opportunity to earn a valuable education in the field of global health awareness.

The core concepts introduce students to comprehensive education of significant global health issues, prevention methods, risk mitigation, education and solutions for cures and treatments. Completion of the program will enhance a student’s understanding of emergency situation preparedness in addition to creating a solid foundation of knowledge in preventative care.

Students must already hold a baccalaureate degree and have relevant initial experience in the field of international healthcare.
