Program Details
The online Graduate Certificate in Model-Based Systems Engineering program provides practicing engineers with the necessary skills to use current modeling techniques to develop and simulate complex, multi-disciplinary engineering systems, preparing them to meet the advances in technology demands and increased interconnectivity that drove systems engineering from a document-centric paradigm to a model-centric one. Students will study model-based systems engineering which provides the means to construct models that capture system structure, behavior, and requirement and to maintain consistency of these models automatically between collaborating engineers, allowing them to gain insight into the overall system performance over the entire lifecycle before a system component is ever made. Graduates also know methods to automate data acquisition for system development, establish rules for reusability and model resources, and have the skills needed to simulate the designed systems.
