Miami Dade College offers a College Credit Certificate in Entrepreneurship for students and professionals in business to develop the knowledge and skills needed to be an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs take risks and utilize creativity, hard work, and knowledge of business practices in order to create new ideas for businesses, or find ways to improve upon current products and services. Through the program, students will earn certification that demonstrates their fundamental understanding of the issues of entrepreneurship, and how entrepreneurs use tools such as the internet and skillful management to turn an idea into a successful business.
Through the program, students will develop the fundamental understanding of what entrepreneurship is and what entrepreneurship does through classes that expand upon the roles of entrepreneurs and the fundamental aspects of business. Those classes include introduction to entrepreneurship, introduction to e-commerce, fundamentals of selling, and small business management.
Through this certificate program, students demonstrate their qualifications in the basic principles of business management of small businesses. These qualifications include but are not limited to: the ability to demonstrate knowledge of management, marketing, and financial management of entrepreneurial ventures, to demonstrate knowledge of sound business principles in developing and evaluating ideas for business startup and expansion, to demonstrate the ability to prepare and evaluate a business plan, and to develop practical experience through program internships or job-related assignments.
