Associate in Arts
McHenry County College's Associate in Arts Degree is a two-year program that helps students complete the general education requirements necessary for a Bachelor's degree program. Course credit may be applied towards a four-year degree upon completion of this program. Students planning to pursue degrees in the humanities or social sciences may see particular benefit from this degree.
This program consists of a minimum of 60 credit hours, which must be completed with a minimum 2.0 grade point average. At least 15 of those credit hours must be completed at MCC. Upon completion of the program, students will be required to pass the general education assessment test in order to receive their degree. Students are required to take foreign language courses up to level 4.
McHenry County College is made up of 7,104 undergraduate students, 33 percent of who study full-time. McHenry's 23:1 student-to-faculty ratio allows for incased interaction with professors, to help students best take advantage of the college's dedicated faculty. Students have access to services such as remedial tutoring, academic concealing, career concealing, employment services for students, and on-campus daycare.
