Master of Arts in Integrated Marketing Communication
Marist College offers an online Master of Arts in Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC). This MA program is designed to meet the challenges faced by today’s corporations to create a consistent message that embodies their brand. Marist College sought the help of communication industry leaders to create a curriculum that effectively understands the value of harnessing the media-rich marketplace of today.
A benefit of this program is that it can be taken full-time or part-time depending upon the inpidual's schedule. Classes in the spring and fall last eight-weeks and there are two rounds per semester. The summer semester has two rounds of six-week duration.
The IMC curriculum includes 10 courses that are offered asynchronously. These courses are Principles of Integrated Marketing Communication, Advertising Management, Public Relations Management, Social Media Strategies and Tactics, Marketing Research, Marketing Foundations, Brand Management, Analytical Tools for Decision Making, Global Consumer Insights, and Integrated Marketing Communication (Capstone).
By the end of the program, students should be competent in consumer behavior theory and marketing segmentation strategy, as well as effective communicators to perse audiences. Marist also offers numerous non-credit internship opportunities through various companies to give students a competitive edge.
Anyone possessing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university is eligible to apply, however, the program is highly competitive and preference may be shown to those with professional work experience in marketing or degrees related to business/marketing. Admission requirements include a $50 application fee, official undergraduate/graduate transcripts from all previously attended institutions, a current résumé, three recommendation forms from references, a personal essay, and an official GRE or GMAT score.
In the instance that the applicant possesses an undergraduate degree in Communication or Business with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and has either taken a graduate course receiving a grade of B (or better) or has three years experience in Advertising, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Marketing, or Sales, the GRE/GMAT requirement is waived.
