Property Management Certificate
Madison Area Technical College
Madison Area Technical College offers a Property Management Certificate program for students who are interested in areas such as real estate, customer service and sales. The School of Business and Applied Arts has specifically constructed the Property Management Certificate program for students who are interested in learning more about property management and for those attracted to possible careers in property management.
Before taking the state-licensing exam, students within the certificate program will be fully prepared in the basic educational requirements such as sales and broker pre-licensing. The certificate program gives students knowledge in areas such as marketing, upkeep and the supervision of real estate. Some courses offered during the program are Real Estate Law, Real Estate Brokerage, Property Management 1, Marketing for Property Management and Maintenance for Property Management. All students are required to complete the program with a minimum GPA of 2.0 and earn a grade of “C” or higher in all courses. Students may take the certificate program courses at the Truax Campus, although select program courses will be offered online.
Upon completion of the certificate, students may find careers working for real estate brokers, real estate agents, real estate development firms, government agencies and private corporations. Specifically, students may find potential careers such as Property Manager, Real Estate Agent and Real Estate Broker. Students, after completion of the Property Management Certification, are not guaranteed to be certified in professional organizations and will have to consult a representative of the Institute of Real Estate Management for inquiries regarding future employment opportunities.
