Program Overview

LeTourneau University's Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management degree offers a curriculum focused on foundational competencies of interpersonal, business and personnel management. Specifically, the goal of the Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management program is to teach students how to deliver training, facilitate organizational change, improve human performance, and manage organizational knowledge.

The Human Resource Management program prepares graduates on how to foster an effective workplace by learning hot to identify, attract, select and retain employes. Also, students learn how to appropriately deal with ethical issues and employment laws related to Human Resources.

Program courses include: Principles of Financial Accounting, Principles of Managerial Accounting, Business Law, Business Ethics, Macroeconomics, Financial Analysis for Managers, Management and Leadership OR Principles of Management, Organizational Behavior, Managing Human Resources OR Human Resource Management, Compensation and Benefits, Staffing, Negotiation Strategy, Managing Innovation and Change, Conflict Resolution, Employment Law and Global Management Strategy.

General education courses needed in order to complete degree requirements include: The Bible, Communications/Speech, English Composition, Literature, History, Kinesiology, Math( College Algebra and Elementary Statistics) and Natural Science with lab. In total, students will complete 48 hours of major courses, 41 hours of general education courses and 37 credit hours in general elective courses totaling 126 credit hours.

Students have the opportunity to either take all classes online or enroll for evening classes at LeTourneau University's Longview location in Texas. LeTourneau University is a Christian university and as such, strives to promote a faith-driven educational experience. All courses and degree programs are taught through a Christian perspective, including the Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management.

    LeTourneau begins its faith statement by declaring “a deep faith in God is the cornerstone of LeTourneau University.” This private not-for-profit university began as an all male college in 1956 by R.G. and Evelyn LeTourneau in Longview, Texas. It transitioned to a co-educational facility by 1961. It is an interdenominational Christian-based organization that welcomes students from all denominations.

    LeTourneau University offers almost 100 academic programs at both graduate and undergraduate levels in a variety of fields, from engineering and air traffic control, to teacher education and business. LeTourneau University offers many degrees online, delivering the same the prestige and quality of an LETU education through the convenience of being able to complete your classes from anywhere.
