Business Administration - Human Resource Management Certificate
Lenoir Community College
Lenoir Community College offers students the opportunity to earn a certificate concentrating on human resources management. The foundational education should serve as suitable credentials to supplement already gained educations and experiences. Human resources (HR) are responsible for encouraging, maintaining and promoting an employee’s experiences. The primary objective of a human resource department is to attract and recruit suitable employees, in addition to training new employees about the expectations of the organization. Human resources are also involved in employee performance assessments.
Students earning the certificate in HR may use the education for entry-level positions in HR departments, or as the needed refresher for staying current in the ever-changing rules and regulations of business operations. A professional with the HR focus should serve as a primary liaison between the employee and the organization. The value from the 18 credit hour program is divided into 6 courses; each covering an important part of human resources management. The courses are designed to incorporate the thoughts, emotions and psychology behind a work force, increase productivity and work ethic, and minimize resentment.
Students must complete the required courses, which cover topics of: Principles of Management, Human Resource Management, and Small Business Management. Satisfactory understanding of the certificate programs objectives should give students the necessary edge when pursuing careers in small or large organizations, as leaders in strategic decision making across many business operations.
