Program Overview

Lawrence Technological University’s Master of Engineering Management program aims to prepare students to be confident leaders in the engineering field. Engineering Management is a multidisciplinary field that involves the application of engineering methods and technologies to business practices. This degree is unique in that it is a cross-disciplinary program utilizing the expertise of the College of Engineering and the College of Management. The degree can help bridge the gap between the management team of a business and the actual engineers.

The curriculum is designed to equip students with the technical expertise and leadership skills they need to advance their career in the fast-paced world of technology. The degree includes topics such as new product development, experience design, technology strategy, lean improvement, software methodologies, multinational strategies, and the art of leadership.

Some of the core courses required for the degree are as follows: Information Systems and the Enterprise, Project Management, Leadership and Leadership Development, Quality Control, Enterprise Productivity, Quality Engineering Systems, Technology Management. Students also can choose from the following elective courses: Human Resource Management, Leading Organizational Change, Managing Project Organization, Perspectives International Business, Project Risk and Quality Management, Marketing Management, and Operations Management.

    School Overview

    Lawrence Technological University is a four-year private school located in Southfield, Michigan. In 1932, the Lawrence brothers founded the school as the Lawrence Institute of Technology to be a school of engineering. The school’s current name was adopted in 1989 when the first master degree program was launched. Doctoral programs were first offered in 2002.
