Associate in Arts in Accounting & Business Administration

Program Details

The online AA in Accounting & Business Administration degree program from Lake Region State College is designed for students who plan to earn a two-year degree and enter the workforce, or who plan to work toward a baccalaureate degree in business administration or accounting. Courses provide the broad background required, as well as the beginning courses in the specialty, focusing on:

  • ​Applying generally accepted accounting principles to measure, process, and communicate financial information about a sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporation
  • ​Using basic budgets and standard costs as aids in planning and controlling operations 
  • Applying managerial accounting concepts and principles
  • ​Classifying and recording revenues and expenditures appropriately
  • Identifying, comparing, and using financial statements
  • Understanding the legal environment in which businesses operate


This degree program requires 60-61 credits for completion.
  • Official high school transcripts or GED certificate
  • Official transcripts from all previous colleges attended
  • Scores for the ACT or other nationally recognized examination (if applicable)
