Program Overview

Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana offers a Bachelor completion degree in Insurance and Risk Management. Courses are offered in eight-week formats and are offered completely online. This program exposes students to the multiple disciplines in business. Students will develop a strong foundation in business in addition to Insurance and Risk Management.

The core business courses include the following: Dynamics to Professional Success, Introduction to Management Information Systems, Business Statistics II, Business Finance, Introduction to Operations Management, Principles of Marketing, Management & Organizational Behavior, and Senior Business Experience. The Insurance and Risk Management courses include the following: Introduction to Insurance & Risk Management, Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Commercial Liability Risk Management & Insurance, Commercial Property Risk Management & Insurance, and Risk Management & Insurance.

Additionally, all students must complete the following: a course in Business Report Writing, eight additional courses of 300-400 level courses in addition to the major courses, and at least 50 percent of business courses must be earned at Indiana State in order to graduate. Students have the option to complete a minor, if desired. The following minors are available online: accounting, forensic accounting, human resource development, and packaging.

    Completion of approximately 60 credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or above in all college-level studies


    Students must be residing in either the United States or Canada, with the exception of U.S. military and State Department personnel and their family members with APO/FPO addresses.
