Program Details

Students pursuing the associate’s degree in Health Information Technology will be able to find employment in settings such as hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, clinics, physician offices, and government agencies. Graduates can also apply their associate’s degree toward a related bachelor’s program at Indian River State College.

Health information technicians can accurately compile, analyze, and maintain medical records consistent with the industry’s coding system. Graduates of the health informatics online degree are eligible to take the AHIMA Registered Health Information Technician exam for certification.
