Program Details

The online PhD in Nursing degree program from Hampton University focuses on family and family-related research. Core requirements are the same for all students regardless of their research interests, but students are able to pursue their individual interests by taking elective and cognate courses. The student's competence and scientific knowledge is tested through three doctoral examinations:

  • ​A qualifying examination
  • ​A comprehensive examination
  • ​An oral defense of the dissertation

Requirements

  • Requires two summer residencies at the Hampton University main campus
  • Must hold a master’s degree in an approved program (preferred) OR master level prerequisite business courses in Economics, Accounting, and Quantitative Business Analysis
  • GMAT test scores
