Program Details

The online Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Elementary Education program is for candidates who already hold bachelor’s degrees and are interested in careers teaching young children.  Candidates will be prepared to teach young children in preschool through grade five.  Courses include MAT Elementary Science Methods, MAT Elementary Mathematics Methods, MAT Elementary Social Studies Methods, and Culturally Responsive Classroom Management.


  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Cumulative 2.5 (4.0 scale) GPA or higher on all undergraduate and graduate work combined
  • Passing scores on the GACE Program Admission Assessment or be exempt by acceptable SAT, ACT, or GRE scores
  • Georgia Educator Ethics–Program Entry (350) assessment
  • Qualify for a Georgia Pre-Service certificate or Induction Pathway 4 certificate
  • Letter of intent
  • Two Initial Disposition Assessments
  • Disclosure and Affirmation statements
