Program Details

Get ready for a teacher education degree with this online special education degree. This two-year program offers the first step toward a teacher education degree. Upon completion, students can transfer to a senior college to complete a four-year degree.

Learn about the foundations of education, the diversity of students in American schools, current issues in education, and theories of teaching and learning as you prepare for a career in special education. Each course has a Field Experience component which allows students to work directly with children in a structured setting, putting their new knowledge and skills to use immediately. The curriculum ensures graduates are ready to serve as teachers in public and private schools, familiar with common methods and strategies used in classrooms.
