Program Overview

The Master of Management Information Systems degree offered by Friends University is designed to integrate the fields and subjects of information systems with that of business cultures. Students enrolled in this program will focus on the strategic role that information systems can play in a business organization. This program emphasizes current research activities in the field of information systems. This program offers current topical studies that aim to help its students to prepare for employment or advancement in this field.

This program may equip its students with skills and knowledge needed to gain the experience necessary to assume leadership positions related to computer information systems in a business. An objective of this program is to provide students with the competencies needed to understand complex and dynamic environments in which information systems are used. This program’s design blends both practical hands-on experiences with academic theory. This helps students to learn how to create and manage information systems, processes, and services that can give organizations a competitive edge.

Students who are enrolled in the Management of Information Systems program are required to complete 36 credit hours of courses in order to graduate. This program may be completed in as few as 24 months. The required courses include: Research Methods in Management Information Systems, Project Management for Information Systems Information Security and Policy Development, and Data Communications and Networking.

    A student must have completed their baccalaureate degree from an accredited university or college. A prospective student must have earned a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Students must provide Friends University with official transcripts from the institution that granted them their Bachelor’s or other Graduate degree and two letters of recommendation (one personal and one professional).
