Program Details

The online Associate of Science in Health Information Technology program prepares students for a wide variety of Healthcare IT careers in hospitals, residential care facilities, or other health care services.  Students learn skills and knowledge such as medical billing and coding, disease classification (ICD-10), electronic health records, and healthcare procedural codes.  The curriculum teaches students about improving efficiency and quality when delivering healthcare services, organizing and maintaining data for clinical databases and registries, tracking patient outcomes for quality assessments, using classification software to assign clinical codes for reimbursement and data analysis, electronically recording data, and protecting patients’ health information for confidentiality and data security.
