Program Details

Earn a Master of Arts degree in History (Non-Thesis) with Fort Hays State University online.  Students will take on major research, written projects, and hands-on work at apprenticeships while completing six extra hours of classes in place of a thesis.  Students are able to focus on an area of historical interest, which such options as:

  • Western history
  • European history
  • History of science and technology
  • Local history

Studies for the non-thesis program include but are not limited to Historical Methods and Historiography.  Graduates of this program have found fruitful careers as consultants, principals, authors, curators, and lawyers.  Students may also pursue a Ph.D. program upon completion of this master’s degree at Fort Hays State University online.
