Program Overview

Information Technology has made control and analysis of data possible in ways that have never been possible before. Both big businesses and small can use developments in technology and information to optimize their production and supply chain systems. Optimization includes redesigning supply systems to be faster, cheaper, and more efficient. Efficiencies translate to higher values for consumers and higher profits for businesses. Managers involved in supply chain management work to synchronize the production, information, organization and funds to maximize these benefits.

Florida Tech University’s Master of Science in Supply Chain Management is a result of the need for trained professionals who understand the supply chain and the use of technology and information systems to lower costs. The program is available entirely online and can be completed in two years. The capacity to complete the program on an asynchronous schedule allows professionals and individuals unable to meet the rigors of a traditional class schedule, to earn a Master’s degree without interrupting their careers or personal lives.

Students seeking a degree in Supply Chain Management will learn how to design and manage an effective supply chain, improve operational efficiencies of an existing supply chain, understand and apply supply chain analytical statistics, conduct forecasting, aggregate planning, sales planning and operations planning, apply project management skills to a supply chain, understanding implications of supply chain projects in terms of key financial performance metrics, and recognize and evaluate supply chain vulnerabilities and develop supply chain risk mitigation strategies.

The program is open and recommended for professionals seeking to advance position or enter a career as a Supply Chain Management Specialist, Purchasing Manager, Commodity Manager, Transportation Manager, Global Supply Chain Planner, or other career options involving Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Transportation, or Entrepreneurship.
