Bachelor of Arts in Accounting
Program Details
Florida Institute of Technology offers the online BA in Accounting. This program prepares students for a career in financial, managerial and cost accounting, with knowledge of tax planning, auditing, international accounting systems, and mergers & acquisitions. Students will learn the function of bookkeeping and managing accounting information systems and practice the fundamentals of cost accounting, maintain accounting standards of financial accounting, and incorporate the principles and procedures of internal and public auditing into their activities.
Graduates will possess a practical understanding of the following:
- tax laws including tax returns and tax research
- partnerships, mergers and acquisitions
- trust and estate accounting and taxes
- consolidations and incorporation
- corporate taxation
Requirements
- Official transcripts of high school graduation or GED equivalent (if fewer than 24 semester credit hours at an accredited institution)
- Official transcripts of all regionally accredited higher education institutions attended
- Official records for any advancement exams, including CLEP, GED college-level examinations, and /or DANTES, USAFI examinations
