Program Details

In a business, the accountant is usually considered the most honest and one of the most important inpiduals in the success of the company. It’s the accountant’s responsibility to inform the business owners on the state of the business in order for the decision-makers to correctly make decisions. As a result, most accountants are prized on their education and their accreditation, including a prized CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) accreditation.

To facilitate the progress of the inpidual towards the goal of Accountant accreditation, Florida Tech University has developed the Bachelors of Arts in Accounting program to prepare students for a career in financial, managerial and cost accounting, with knowledge of tax planning, auditing, international accounting systems, and mergers & acquisitions. Certified Accountants can pursue careers in either public or private accounting. The BA in Accounting from Florida Tech is based off of a liberal arts foundation into the career-specific field of Accounting.

As a student of Accounting, those seeking a Bachelor of Arts will learn the function of bookkeeping and managing accounting information systems and practice the fundamentals of cost accounting, maintain accounting standards of financial accounting, and incorporate the principles and procedures of internal and public auditing into their activities. After earning a degree, graduates will have a practical understanding of tax laws including tax returns and tax research. They will also be able to understand and investigate corporate taxation, and manage trust and estate accounting and taxes. In addition, graduates will understand the principles necessary for partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, consolidations and incorporation.

Graduates with a BA in Accounting will have access to above entry-level positions in accounting and finance, including auditing, budget analysis, tax preparation, accountancy, income tax accountancy, among many other functions. A graduate with a Bachelor in Arts in Accounting is on the path to becoming one of the most necessary and most dependable inpiduals in any business.
