Program Details

Prepare to help students with exceptionalities learn with this online special education degree. This includes individuals with mild to moderate disabilities of whom you will learn to address the needs.

There are two options for completion:

  • Candidates who hold a valid teaching license and want to obtain an M.Ed. in Multi-Categorical Special Education with Autism.
  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree but who do not have a valid teaching license. The students in this category will gain an M.Ed. and certification in Multi-Categorical Special Education with Autism.

Suppose you have a certification in Multi-Categorical Special Education and would like to apply to the West Virginia Board of Education for an endorsement in autism. In that case, there is also an option for you.

Courses and clinical experiences that provide real-world learning opportunities are asynchronous, allowing you to study when and where it is convenient.
