The online Graduate Certificate in Autism program is for students with master’s degrees who are interested in taking courses focused specifically on autism disorders in children. The curriculum builds knowledge and skills needed to work with individuals across the autism spectrum as students learn to demonstrate an understanding of the breadth, depth, and diversity of learning and behavioral challenges associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Graduates are able to identify effective methods for diagnosing and assessing individuals with autism; describe the experiences of families of individuals with autism, including the impact on psychological functioning, family dynamics, and logistical planning; and describe and implement evidence-based practices for collaborating with members of other disciplines and for training staff members.
