Program Details

The goal of the Graduate Certificate in Surgical Assisting is to assist current professionals in gaining the skills necessary to assist surgeons in operating rooms. Eligible candidates must have two years of work experience and must be currently employed in an operating room. This 12-month program begins in May of each year.

Classes include, but are not limited to:

  • Biomedical sciences
  • Professional practices special topics series
  • Principles of surgical assisting

Students are required to complete didactic and clinical requirements. They must possess a problem-solving and self-disciplined learning approach to the curriculum. The online graduate certificate program in surgical assisting provides students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in the surgical field.
