The online Master of Social Work degree program from Dominican University offers an Advanced Standing option. The Advanced Standing program is designed with busy professionals in mind, allowing students with bachelor’s degrees in social work to complete their Master of Social Work degree in as little as nine months. This is a highly efficient, forward-looking program that offers all of the preparation and competence of the regular degree program, preparing graduates for careers in family-centered, globally focused social work. This interdisciplinary curriculum covers the fundamentals of social work, including human behavior, community analysis, social welfare, and the nature and dynamics of family systems. Coursework integrates global issues into the curriculum, touching on such international concerns as immigration policies, refugee crises, and economic dislocations that impact people around the world.
