Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice
One of Crown’s upper-level educational programs is the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. The primary objective of the Criminal Justice program is to investigate diverse social, political, legal, and ethical concerns embedded in complex criminal justice issues with a Christian perspective. Students may use the foundational curriculum to pursue careers in juvenile justice, security, probation, corrections, youth work, or the court systems.
The goal of the Criminal Justice program is to give students the necessary and relevant knowledge to apply in a multitude of justice and enforcement situations and organizations. The online degree program may be combined with the Disaster and Emergency Management degree program to strategically reflect real-world situations and opportunities. Completions of the complementary programs offer students an even greater option for personal and professional career growth.
This program allows adult learners and professionals the flexibility to earn a valuable degree while still fulfilling previous obligations. In addition to the strong core curriculum, the faculty members are dedicated to promoting and nurturing leadership styles that will contribute to meaningful and effective organizations. The educators bring real world ministry experience to the classroom, as well as leadership experience to best apply practical understanding of the diverse roles graduates may acquire in different settings.
Students who complete the B.S. in Criminal Justice degree program should have the capability to pursue a wide and exciting variety of job possibilities post-graduation. Through the program, graduates should have been equipped to investigate the nature and causes of crime, while learning how a faith focus, strong family setting, stable communities, effective schools and reduced violence and poverty can contribute to crime, as well as its prevention.
