Program Details

The online Master of Education in Gifted Education program prepares professionals to provide leadership in gifted education and to meet gifted certification requirements.  Coursework focuses on the nature of gifted learners, the needs of the gifted, challenges faced by gifted, curriculum development for gifted learners, and instruction of gifted learners.  Courses include:

  • Identification and Other Issues in Gifted Ed
  • Nature and Needs of the Gifted
  • Curriculum and Instruction for the Gifted
  • Advanced Curriculum Practices for the Gifted
  • Theories and Designs in Action Research

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Overall cumulative 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale (for full, non-provisional admission)
  • Two letters of recommendation (with at least one from an academic source)
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended
  • NTE/Praxis II scores
  • Copy of professional certification as an educator
  • A personal statement
