Program Details

The online AA in Communication Studies / Communications degree program from Coastline Community College is designed to provide students with skills that are in high demand in business, industry, non-profit organizations and government service. Graduates are prepared to:

  • Use written and oral tools to analyze and improve communication in personal, academic, public, and professional interactions
  • Effectively deliver oral presentations in a range of settings to diverse audiences
  • Construct written messages for various purposes to diverse audiences
  • Observe, evaluate, and competently exercise interpersonal communication skills


  • 18 years or older (if under 18, students must have graduated from high school, passed the California High School Certificate of Proficiency Test or the equivalent, or completed the 10th grade and received permission from their high school principal and parent to attend)
  • Placement tests for English and Math may be required
