Program Details

Study deaf people’s language and culture with this online special education degree. Gain a well-rounded understanding and an appreciation of human diversity within the local and global deaf community. You will work with and understand those who identify as:

  • d/Deaf
  • Hard of Hearing
  • DeafBlind
  • Deaf+

Students will learn theoretical and practical skills that allow them to succeed in advocacy or interpreting careers, promoting social justice and obtaining resilience-facilitating resources.  

With this degree, you will be part of a community committed to fostering a bilingual approach within the Deaf Studies program. Courses align culture, language, and discourse within the Deaf Community. Coursework is immersive, with interactive experiences that teach foundational skills in American Sign Language. Students will benefit from daily application, communication, and involvement in the Deaf Community using American Sign Language.
