Program Details

The online Certificate in Child Development prepares students to immediately enter the workforce or can be used as the foundation for two additional Certificate programs, the Infant Toddler Certificate and the Director’s Certificate.  This program prepares students to work in a variety of positions in early childhood programs, including jobs such as Early Head Start and Head Start teacher assistants, preschool teacher assistants, parent educators, family support professionals, child care facility administrators, and state agency employees.  Courses include: 

  • Teacher, Community and Family Relations
  • Preschool Behavior & Guidance
  • Child Growth & Development
  • Language and Physical Skills
  • Program Planning & Administration

Requirements

  • Official high school and college (if applicable) transcripts
  • Official copies of ACT or SAT scores (ACCUPLACER is accepted for adult students 21 years and older)
  • Copies of social security card and driver's license
  • Official copies of CLEP or AP test scores (if applicable)
