Master of Science in Education: Specialization in Early Childhood Studies
California Baptist University offers a Master of Science degree in Education with a Specialization in Early Childhood Studies (MSE/ECS). The curriculum is 36 units: 15 units of core courses and 21 units of specialization requirements.
The curriculum at California Baptist is quite unique; students are also encouraged to grow personally, professionally, and spiritually. The MS in Education with a Specialization in Early Childhood Studies degree prepares students to further their skills and careers in various positions. Students will hone their current skills, which will enhance their professional development. The degree can be completed in as little as 12 months, if three full-time semesters in a year are taken. The classes are smaller, which allows students to have a higher degree of interaction among other colleagues and faculty. Students are also encouraged to build relationships with fellow colleagues, which also help develop team-building skills and interpersonal skills.
The MSE/ECS curriculum integrates theory, practice, and research, which allow students to understand concepts from a holistic perspective. Important topics of human growth and development, learning theories, curriculum design, and research methods are also integrated into the curriculum, which exposes the student to a variety of educational topics. ECS Courses encompass topics of educational research, exceptional education, early childhood literacy, early childhood development, and a few others.
