Program Overview

California Baptist University offers a Bachelor of Science completion degree in Criminal Justice. The curriculum is 49 units: nine units of lower core courses, 33 credits of upper  requirements, and 7 units of additional required courses. Additionally, all students must meet the perquisite courses prior to enrolling in Criminal Justice courses. These courses are: Composition, Intermediate Composition, and Intermediate Algebra. All students are to complete CST 100 and meet the Upper Christian Studies requirements. It is preferred that applicants have a minimum of 24 transferrable units. The program has eight-week sessions, which allows students to complete their degree in as little as 16 months.

The curriculum at California Baptist is quite unique; students are also encouraged to grow personally, professionally, and spiritually. Students develop strong moral character while developing a strong background in criminal justice. The Criminal Justice curriculum integrates the faith-based mission of California Baptist University with ethics, justice, and special topics related to criminal justice; all of the courses integrate Christian values and principles. Students will develop strong critical thinking skills, and deepen their understanding of the law and how to uphold the laws. The faculty is composed of professionals in the criminal justice field. They teach students with the current industry standards and provide students with invaluable insight and knowledge.
