Program Details

The Bachelor of Arts in Management Degree from Azusa Pacific University is designed to prepare students for careers in business, marketing, and other related fields. It is the view of this program that preparation for a successful business career requires broad appreciation in the major elements of business enterprise and relationships. Therefore, the curriculum and coursework are designed to reflect such a value. Upon graduation, candidates should be able to pursue entry-level work in retail and sales, commercial banking, government service, and a variety of other private and public sector organizations. Some graduates will go on to further study at the master's level, while others may start their own businesses.

In this program, students cover topics relevant to the business world, including strategic leadership, management, production, finance, technology, human relations, and business law. Continuing APU's faith-based education style, the program instills theoretical framework and practical skills for Christ-like leadership. Students should hone and develop skills in critical thinking and analysis, problem solving, and policy-based decision making.

Once enrolled, degree candidates are able to focus their degree by adding an area of emphasis. This is intended to focus the scope of the program towards a student's own unique goals, strengths, and interests. Options of emphasis are Accounting, Business Psychology, Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Global Logistics Management, Healthcare Management, Human Resources Management, Information Systems Management, and Organizational leadership. Each emphasis requires 15 credits for completion.

To complete this BA in Management program, students are required to earn 120 overall credits. Of this total, 60 come from the program major, including 15 towards the chosen emphasis, 51 from a liberal arts core, and nine from Management prerequisites.
