Angelo State University offers the Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology for students who want to work as a psychologist in healthcare settings, or within educational or social services systems. Applied Psychology offers a generalized program where students will learn about the fundamental principles and practices of psychology, including methods, theory, principles, and practices while learning about psychopathology, intervention, and principles of ethics in professional psychological practice. The program will include both research and practice-oriented elements of protection and provides the foundation for doctoral-level study in clinical psychology.
As part of the program, students will learn about topics involving the foundations and principles of psychology and learn about the application of principles in order to help others within a social service setting. Those classes includes core concepts in psychological science, applied research methods, social psychology, theories of personality, applied economic psychology, social perception, environmental psychology, advanced learning, cognitive neuroscience, and developmental psychology.
