If a prospective student does not have any previously earned credits or degrees, they may complete this program in the traditional manner. This program is offered alongside a Bachelor of Emergency Management Services degree with a concentration in Homeland Security Operations and Administration.
This program requires students to complete 123 credit hours of courses in order to graduate with the Bachelor of Emergency Management Services degree. The curriculum is as follows: students must take 36 credit hours of general education courses, 27 credit hours of emergency management services courses, 15 hours of safety and disaster management courses, and 9 credit hours of upper level courses in specialized areas like computer information systems, management, and organizational leadership. Students are also required to complete an internship, which serves as a practical supplement to the skills and knowledge they have acquired through the traditional courses. The rest of the credit hours needed to fulfill the 123 minimum are open electives.
