Program Details
Alvernia University’s M.Ed. in Special Education prepares educators who hold another teaching certification to succeed in a variety of inclusive special education classroom settings. Teachers will learn how to apply theory, fundamental techniques, and research-based best practices.
The curriculum focuses on working with young students with special needs including learning disabilities, social/emotional disorders, and autism. Courses also cover technology, literacy, and teaching strategies. Participants will complete classroom field experiences.
The Master’s in Special Education online includes courses such as:
- Differentiated instruction in inclusive classrooms
- Collaboration and legal issues for special educators
