Program Details

Enroll in online school counseling programs and enhance professional opportunities.  Learn to make a positive change in the lives of individual students in K-12 settings.  This includes helping students with personal and academic challenges and helping students plan for their futures after high school.  

Emphasizing school-based mental health, this program includes courses in:

  • Adolescent behavior
  • Methodology
  • Evaluation
  • Professional counseling

Graduates are prepared to provide education-related mental health services and evaluation in school settings and for the PPS credential, which allows you to practice in California schools.  

An education specialist in school counseling degree is more advanced than a master’s degree but requires less coursework than a Ph.D. or EdD.
