Program Overview

The Adler School of Professional Psychology offers an online Master of Art’s degree in Criminology. The completely online environment of this course offers students increased flexibility and convenience of attending class during their free time.

This program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand challenges in the criminal justice system. The curriculum focuses on combining criminology, psychology, and social justice. By blending these courses students can understand the causes and consequences of criminal behavior, as well as use their skills to face certain challenges.

The Alder School of Professional Psychology requires 36 credit hours in order to complete this program. Graduates from this program will be qualified to work in various settings, including the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, insurance companies, court systems and much more. Eligible students will hold a bachelor’s degree, have a GPA of 3.0 or better and have volunteer or professional experiences in the field.

    School Overview

    The Adler University follows its namesake, Alfred Adler, a physician and psychotherapist who promoted individual psychology in a positive relationship to the community environment. Founder of the college, Rudolf Dreikurs, established the private, not-for-profit school in 1952 in Chicago. Through the years, Adler University has retained a focus on social justice, operating a group therapy program in Cook County Jail, along with a community health center and training program. By the 1970s, Adler University gained the accreditation to issue Master’s degrees and conferred the first Doctorate degree in 1990. Currently, Adler University maintains campuses in Chicago, Vancouver, British Columbia, and online. Furthermore, Adler University supports the following institutes and centers:
