Program Details

The Master of Arts in Costume Design, an online fashion degree, is available from one of the top art schools, Academy of Art University.  This degree prepares students to become artisans and designers with key technical skills.  This program provides the opportunity for you to practice your craft in active production environments, so you are able to design theatrical productions while collaborating with the director, fellow designers, and the actors.  By the end of this process, you will be able to create costumes that support the needs of the production.  Coursework combines a rigorous sewing program with industry specific design courses, so students are ready to work in multiple positions within either the theatre or film.  Graduates have portfolios that showcase their range of talents in design and construction of garments and specialty items including jewelry and millinery work.
