Program Details

Academy of Art University offers the Associate of Arts in Photography, an online liberal arts degree.  With this degree students study both a way of seeing and a visual language that lets them tell their stories and communicate their unique points of view through a new medium.  You will learn the fundamental skills of photography while gaining technical competence in the field.  Courses cover these skills:

Graduates will be able to produce professional quality prints, understand industry trends and professional practices, use photoshop, utilize proper lighting for maximum effectiveness, and integrate key conceptual elements with technical elements to suggest a story or elicit an emotional response from the viewer.
