Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences & Disorders
Abilene Christian University

Program Details

With online speech language pathology programs students learn to treat patients of all ages with an acquired or developmental communication disorder.  This is considered a pre-professional program, designed to help working adults prepare for the rigors and advanced content of a graduate program, but it can also assist students in entering the workforce immediately after completion.

As you fulfill prerequisite requirements for a master’s program in speech-language pathology or audiology, you will examine such topics as:

  • Speech, language, and hearing development
  • Role and function of communication
  • Physiology and anatomy perspectives
  • Common disorders and assessment techniques

Enjoy a “vibrant, virtual, Christ-centered community” as you tackle the complexities of communication disorders.  Not only will you gain knowledge and skills in online speech pathology programs, but you will also learn ways to positively impact patients’ lives.  Foundational clinical skills prepare students to effectively and compassionately assist patients with conditions that include autism spectrum disorders, cleft palate, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.
