About Tallahassee Community College
Founded in 1966, the public two-year Tallahassee Community College initially opened to serve the counties of Leon, Gadsden, and Wakulla. Since its founding, the college has continued to grow, and today nearly 15,000 students attend TCC. This includes out-of-state and even international students. TCC has developed a mission “to provide a learning environment that prepares students for success in a global economy by offering higher education pathways, workforce opportunities, and civic engagement experiences.”
Students can pursue associate’s degrees, certificate programs, and workforce training. Though TCC only offers two-year programs, many students transfer into four-year programs and complete bachelor’s degrees on-campus through articulation agreements with other Florida state higher education institutions. Students can attend on-campus day and evening classes, in addition to enrolling in online coursework which is housed in the Center for Distance Learning. More than 500 online classes are offered at TCC annually along with a few online degrees. TCC online degrees are flexible while still providing a fulfilling college experience.
