Program Details
With Ohio University’s Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP) degree, you can hone the advanced practice skills required to care for patients across the lifespan and prepare for expanding career opportunities. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects the need for advanced practice registered nurses (APRN), including nurse practitioners, to grow by at least 40% in the coming years, making the skills you’ll hone in Ohio’s online program more important than ever before.
This flexible, 40-credit program covers the full scope of the family nurse practitioner’s role and responsibilities, including acute, chronic and wellness care. Throughout your studies, both didactic and hands-on learning experiences will help you build a master’s-level ability to assess and diagnose patients and develop and evaluate treatment plans. In addition, you will perfect your expertise and leadership skills. Upon completing the program, you will be well-prepared to sit for the AANP or ANCC certification exam: most graduates pass the exam and become certified as Family Nurse Practitioners on their first attempt.
