Program Details

The online Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management and Homeland Security will prepare you with knowledge of policy, planning, security, organizational, and management issues in the field. Professionals from a range of disciplines, such as police and fire departments, government agencies, the military, and the private sector, can benefit from this online emergency management program.

Students will learn ways to minimize the impact of natural disasters and take preventative measures against attacks. All students will study emergency planning and preparedness, managing homeland security, and administration in public and nonprofit organizations. From there, students will choose two additional courses from topics such as biodefense strategy and policy, disaster response operations and recovery, interagency communication and coordination in emergency preparedness, and terrorism and weapons of mass destruction.
