Either of these degrees from MTC, the online AA or online AS, is intended to be a launch pad to your bachelor’s degree.  With the convenience of online learning, from your kitchen table or the library around the corner, you can complete the general education requirements of many 4-year institutions.  When you enroll in one of these programs, you’ll automatically be enrolled in MTC’s transfer program where articulation agreements have been made with colleges in South Carolina.  You’ll work with an academic advisor to plan your pathway to your bachelor’s.

The online Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice Technology program is designed for individuals either currently working in a profession related to the Criminal Justice field, who are interested in pursuing a career in the field, or who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete bachelor’s degrees in the field.  The curriculum covers a broad spectrum of criminal justice concepts and theories including police administration, criminal law, criminal evidence and procedures, correctional systems, and criminology.  You will be prepared for careers in law enforcement, correctional services, the courts, private security, and juvenile services.

The online Certificate in Criminal Justice program is designed for individuals either already employed in criminal justice agencies or who are diversifying their major course of study, providing students with an academic post-secondary education in criminal justice.  The curriculum offers a theoretical and systems approach to the field with areas of instruction focusing on concepts, theories, and processes pertaining to the criminal justice system.  You will study police work and organization, criminal law, causes of criminal behavior, rules of evidence and criminal procedures, and correctional services and systems.
