Program Details
Get certified to teach 4th through 8th grade in Georgia with Brenau University’s online Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education. Graduate ready to take the Georgia Assessment for the Certification of Educators (GACE) exam and choose two concentrations in language arts, mathematics, reading, science or social studies to build expertise in specific subject areas. Up to 90 transfer credits are accepted so you can receive credit for previous academic experience.

As a student, you will complete 100% online coursework designed to provide the training you need to help diverse students thrive academically and support them in the social, emotional, cognitive and physical dimensions of adolescence. Explore topics like developmental psychology, classroom management, assessment, teaching learners with special needs and more. You will also complete 48 hours of in-person field experience and seven weeks of student teaching, preparing to successfully launch your career.
