With the aging of the Baby Boomer generation, there is more need than ever for professionals in the gerontology field. This gerontology online degree offers an understanding of the opportunities and issues facing the aging population and the role of healthcare professionals in providing end of life care for patients and emotional support for their loved ones. Courses cover the psychological, social, and physical aspects of aging, death and dying, and managing care for older adults.
Choose to complete either a fieldwork experience or an EA (ethics, empathy, and advocacy) core course. Those who do not have work experience in the field are required to complete the fieldwork experience, gaining valuable hands-on experience. Others with work experience in the field can choose the EA option.
