Program Details

Take your place in a rapidly growing field with the Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Management, which are health informatics online degrees.  Prepare to help health care offices run efficiently and effectively through coursework that correlates classroom and lab experience with practical experience in health care facilities.  Together with your peers, which are limited to a maximum of 20 students per incoming class, you will complete courses that integrate human science, computer technology, and health information.  Learn about:

  • Data collection, analysis, monitoring, and maintenance
  • Data quality principles
  • Legal and regulatory standards
  • Professional best-practice guidelines

All students complete a combination of theoretical instruction and practical laboratory experience.  This experience can take place on campus or through affiliations with other health care providers.  

Graduates are eligible to sit for the electronic health record specialist and/or billing and coding specialist certifications.
