Program Details

The online Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a concentration in Childhood Education program is designed to support and encourage individuals as they progress toward bachelor’s degrees that will allow them to pursue teaching careers in grades 1-6. The curriculum helps students identify and articulate professional expectations and responsibilities for a basic understanding of teaching as a career in childhood education in grades 1-6. Students also learn to analyze philosophical, sociological, and historical trends that influenced teaching, and to analyze the critical issues in General Education and Special Education for application in classroom environments. Graduates are able to apply subject matter knowledge of teaching in work with diverse student populations.
