Bay Path University, located on a 48 acre campus in the historic town of Longmeadow, Massachusetts is a private women’s college that was founded in 1897. At the time of its founding, Bay Path was located in Springfield, MA and existed as a co-educational college that offered degrees in accounting, secretarial science, business teacher training and business administration. The college moved its location to Longmeadow, MA in 1945, at which time it became a single-sex institution, enrolling only women.
Bay Path is a member of the Cooperating Colleges of Greater Springfield, the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts and Women’s College Coalition, which is an 8 college consortium consisting of more than 24,000 students.
In addition to Bay Path University's main campus location in Longmeadow, which offers traditional undergraduate programs, campus locations also exist in Sturbridge, MA and Burlington, MA. Bay Path has an online program that is available for both men & women and is a flexible and supportive option for working adults that aspire to earn a degree, but are not able to attend campus classes due to their busy schedules. Students in the online program have the option of attending solely online, or if they are able to attend some classes on campus, they can combine the campus classes and online classes.
The online program, offered to both men & women, is flexible and supportive for working adults aspiring to earn a degree, but are not able to do so by solely attending campus classes. Students participating in the online program must have access to the internet and be self-motivated and disciplined. Students in the online program will receive a syllabus that outlines the course requirements, assignments and grading criteria. Course assignments are due weekly, and students participate in weekly online group discussions for most classes. A majority of the online courses don’t include lectures from instructors, which makes the students primarily responsible for their own learning. Instructors are available to offer guidance and feedback as well as to offer resources. An online degree completion program for women is also available and is offered to women that have an associate degree, as well as to women that have at least 60 transferable college credits.
